Donald Albert Morin born January 23, 1941, died peacefully at his home surrounded by family on Friday, April 19, 2024, from natural causes. He was born to Albert and Verna Morin in Garson, Ontario. He will be remembered by his loving wife, Diane (nee Jones), and his sons, Brent (Monica) and Jody (Dawn), and his grandchildren Nathaniel, Paige, and Mad. He is survived by his brother Roy (Ellen) and predeceased by his sisters Sheila Price (Barry) and Judy Kolesar (Steve).

He was a long-time advocate of workers' rights and spent many years until his retirement working tirelessly on behalf of the members of the United Food and Commercial Workers locals 175 / 633. He served as the Nickel Belt riding association president for many years and volunteered countless hours in support of the provincial NDP. He also served first as a member and then as the President of the Sudbury and District Labour Council.

The family would like to thank the Bayshore nurses and the Paramed PSWs for their kind care and support during this difficult time. They all went above and beyond, and their kindness will not be forgotten. Special thanks to Barb Ralph and Claire Cochrane who were always there to support their sister and brother-in-law, and to Monica Morin who put her life on hold and immediately stepped up to give Don and Diane the care they needed at the end of Don's life.

He will be remembered as a kind, gentle, and generous man who would always go out his way to help others. As per Don's wishes, there will be no funeral or service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the diabetes association or a charity or your choice.

"There are special people in our lives who never leave us, even after they are gone" (D. Morgan).

Rest in peace Dad. You will not be forgotten.
