On behalf of Sudbury Performance Group. I would like to take this opportunity to send a public thank you to three community leaders: Rod Bazinet, Phil Morris and The Daventry.
Every Sudbury afternoon, these fine folks have been raising funds for a number of community group in our area. Sudbury Performance Group were one of the lucky recipients for this endeavour.
Rod, Phil and The Daventry have been donating two hours of live local entertainment and a delicious pasta lunch for 130 people every Sunday since Jan 7. They provided Sudbury Performance Group with tickets for us to sell to our supporters to help raise funds for our organization.
We were able to sell enough tickets to cover the cost of all of our costume budget for “Jesus Christ Superstar”. Plus, that weekend, they announced that so far they have raised more than $35,000 for community groups through this endeavour and they were on track to raise more than $50,000 once the initiative was complete. How incredible is that?!?
It's fantastic to see what can be accomplished with just a small idea on how to give back to the community. As president of Sudbury Performance Group, I think it’s only fair to ensure that these people are given a standing ovation. Even through I know they would hate to have the spotlight put on them, they really are superstar community leaders.
