Ethelbert Jean-Pierre of Sudbury said he just about hit the roof when he learned he won $100,000 with an Instant Gold Pursuit Ticket.

Now retired, Jean-Pierre told OLG his family inspired him to purchase the ticket. "I went to purchase tickets at the store and there were only three left,” he said in a release. “I told the retailer to give them all to me.”

He said it was the last ticket that was the winner.

"I was ecstatic,” said Jean-Pierre. “I could have hit the roof, I was jumping so high! My wife and I couldn't believe it!"

He said he plans to share the joy of his windfall with his family.

The winning ticket was purchased at Lockerby Confectionery Ltd. on Paris Street in Sudbury.
