Irene Elizabeth Pakkala
Irene was born in Sudbury to Martha and Helge Tiitto on May 11, 1946. Beloved wife of Vernen Pakkala and the late Jussi Salmenmaki (predeceased 2009). Loving mother to Erik (wife Kim) and Paul Salmenmaki (wife Kate) of Port Moody, B.C. Sweet grandmother to Clara and Violet Salmenmaki. Irene was the stepmother to Letitia and Fred Pakkala, Josée Arsenault (Joel) and step grandmother to Sienna. Sister-in-law to Elli Aijanako of Finland.
Irene worked at the Taxation Centre for many years. She enjoyed camping at Lake Wahnapitae and Lake Agnew. She enjoyed being involved with the Church ministry for many years.

Memorial Visitation at the Jackson & Barnard Funeral Home, 233 Larch Street, Sudbury.
Friends may gather after 10am Saturday, May 4, 2024.
Memorial Service in the R.J. Barnard Chapel, Saturday May 4, 2024, at 11am.
Cremation with interment in the family plot at Civic Cemetery.
