For an undefined “limited time,” kids get half off IMAX tickets at Science North for every one adult ticket purchased for the same movie.

The promotion is for in-person purchases only, with online ticket orders excluded, and only movies 60 minutes or shorter.

Included among the affected movies is “Jane Goodall’s Reasons for Hope,” which was partially filmed in Greater Sudbury.

The movie’s namesake, world-renowned environmentalist Jane Goodall, visited Sudbury in May to debut the movie, during which she declared that hope is very much alive in this day and age.

She said she hoped the film gave the youth the feeling that nothing is impossible if we work together.

“Without hope that won't happen, and this film is about inspiring people with hope,” Goodall said. “We can, we will, we must.”

If we don’t, well, “we’re doomed,” she said, adding “we humans are not exempt from the extinction of species.”

Reasons for Hope is billed as “an uplifting journey around the globe to highlight good news stories that will inspire people to make a difference in the world around them.”

Other movies included in the deal are:

  • Flying Monsters 3D: For thousands of years, humans have believed that there were once flying monsters. Such creatures became mythologized, with stories about them shared around the world. But could they have really existed?
  • Ireland: Journey to a magical land of stunning natural wonders, ancient clifftop marvels, and a rich, cultural heritage in the film Ireland for IMAX®. Narrated by Liam Neeson.
  • Back from the Brink: Saved from Extinction 3D: Experience on the giant screen the remarkable true story of three animal species rescued from the brink of extinction. Narrated by Claire Danes.
  • Animal Kingdom 3D: A stunning exploration into what makes our natural world so spectacular.
