In loving memory of Isabel Maria Stocker (nee Garcia), 97 years, who passed away peacefully Tuesday, April 28th, 2020 at Health Sciences North. She was blessed to have her loving daughter by her side, and her grandson Skyping in from the North West Territories. During these different times, it was a godsend to have available the technology to give her family the means to be with her for her send-off. Beloved wife of Martin Stocker (predeceased). Loving mother and best friend of Karin Elena Stocker. Cherished grandma of Gregory Aaron Stocker and pet-grandma of Mickey (bichon poodle; predeceased). A caring aunt of many nephews and nieces in Mexico, Canada, the USA, and Australia. Loving daughter of Marta Delgado and Gregorio Garcia of Colima, Mexico, both predeceased. Dear sister of Gregorio, Consuelo, and Luz (all predeceased), of Colima, Mexico. Isabel met her husband in Mexico when she was a ballroom dance instructor. They married, and she arrived in Canada in the middle of winter. Two years later, she came to Sudbury, and was recognized as the first Mexican resident in Sudbury. She will be remembered as an excellent artist, ballet dancer, crafter, hairdresser, and beautician. She was a well-known dance instructor for many years in Sudbury. She was a very talented and creative person who lived life to the fullest and never forgot her Mexican roots. She will be remembered for her zest for life, her colourful spirit, her gentle nature, and her youthfulness. Many thanks are extended to the Alzheimer Society Day Program, Bayshore, the Elizabeth Centre, and Health Sciences North for their dedication and compassion with Isabel’s care in her most challenging last three years. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer Society and Health Sciences North would be appreciated. There will be no funeral visitation or service at this time due to the present circumstances. At a later date, a Memorial Mass will held at Our Lady of Hope Church with reception to follow. Arrangements entrusted to the Lougheed Funeral Home.
