Frances Mae Thomas (nee Shymanski)
January 31, 1948 – June 27, 2024
With deep sorrow the family announces the passing of Frances Mae Thomas (nee Shymanski) 76 years young. Beloved wife for 53 years to William “Bill” Thomas. Fran was the much loved daughter of Dmetro and Anne (nee Kruk) Shymanski both predeceased. She is predeceased by her siblings Olivia and Leon, and her siblings-in-law Madeleine and Mike. She is survived by her sisters Dorothy Pocrnic of Burlington and Sandra Shymanski of Sudbury and her sister-by-choice Carol Valic. She is also grieved by her niece, her nephews, great niece and great nephews.
Upon moving to Capreol in 2002, Fran became active in her parish Our Lady of Peace Church, both in the CWL and as a Eucharistic Minister. She was also involved with the Red Hats of Capreol.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Lougheed Funeral Home, 4605 Michelle Dr., Hanmer on Wednesday, July 3rd at 11:30. Friends and family may visit after 10:30am Wednesday. Service to be followed by the burial at the Lasalle Cemetery, Sudbury.
