The Sudbury Wolves had a busy day Sunday, not on the ice, but in the community.
Members of the Wolves participated in three different community events throughout the day including the Easter Seals Bowl with the Wolves, GO21 Sudbury Walk for Down Syndrome Awareness and a Youth Crime Prevention Week kickoff with the Greater Sudbury Police.
Five members of the Wolves attended the GO21 Sudbury Walk for Down Syndrome Awareness where they walked from Lockerby Secondary School to Paris around by Health Sciences North and back to help raise awareness for Down Syndrome.
Players signed autographs and took pictures with fans prior to the walk and joined them for some basketball upon returning to the school.
Members of the Wolves along with Howler also participated in the annual Easter Seals Bowl with the Wolves at Plaza Bowl. The players bowled with participants who helped raise funds for Easter Seals.
Finally, in association with PaWES, the Sudbury Wolves participated in a public skate at the McClelland Arena in Copper Cliff in support of the Greater Sudbury Police Crime Prevention Week.
The Greater Sudbury Police is encouraging people in the community to attend their events this week, which include a wide array of presentations and seminars about what the community can do to help reduce crime.
Sudbury Wolves owner, Dario Zulich, along with Chief Paul Pederson and Councilor Micheal Vagnini were on hand to address the audience and drop the puck for a charity game between the Copper Cliff Redmen and police.
The Wolves are back in action at home this Friday night when they host the Erie Otters for a special Remembrance Day game at 7 p.m. Tickets are on sale now at the Sudbury Arena Box Office or online or by calling the Wolves office at 705-675-3941 for group sales.
