Rainbow District School Board will offer Kindergarten Camp for children starting school this fall. The week-long program will run from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Aug. 26-29 at all Rainbow elementary schools.

Children must be registered to attend school where the program is being offered.

Sufficient registration is required to ensure the viability of each program.

“Kindergarten Camp immerses children into the wonderful experiences that await them in Rainbow Schools,” says Director of Education Bruce Bourget, in a press release. “Kindergarten Camp also eases the transition from home to school. Children become familiar with staff and surroundings, meet classmates, and get excited about their first day of school.”

Under the guidance of qualified teachers and designated early childhood educators, children will enjoy a variety of daily routines and will engage in inquiry-based learning and play, including co-operative games and outdoor activities. The program will focus on collaboration, problem solving and innovation, and math and literacy.

Register online here. The deadline to register is June 24. Inquiries can be sent to [email protected].

Parents/guardians will be notified in early July about their child’s participation in the program.

If you have not registered your child for school, there is still time to do so. Contact your area Rainbow School to register today.

The first day of school is Sept. 3. There will be no early dismissal on the first day.
