Sudbury's Tracy Fleury and her rink from the Idylwylde Curling Club is in Nipigon this week for the Northern Ontario Scotties Provincial Championship.

Fleury skips a team made up of Amanda Gates (lead), Jenna Walsh (second), Jennifer Wylle (third), and Crystal Webster (alternate).

A total of four rinks will be competing for the chance to represent Northern Ontario at the Scotties Tournament of Hearts, happening Feb. 18 - 26 in St. Catharines, ON.

Fleury and her rink were bested by Krista McCarville's Fort William Curling Club from Thunder Bay at last year's provincial championships. McCarville's rink does have some Sudbury flavour, however, as the Nickel City's own Kendra Lilly throws third for last year's Scotties Tournament of Hearts runner ups.

The action for the provincials get underway at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 18 with Team Fleury taking on Hailey Beaudry's rink from Fort William Curling Club. Fleury and McCarville will meet on day two of the competition (Jan. 20) at 7:30 p.m.

Sudbury.com will be providing updates on Team Fleury as they make their push to compete against the country's best.

You can follow the rest of the competition at Northern Ontario Curling Association's website.
